Visited the Macao Chamber of Commerce

On October 28, 2024, the representatives of the fourth council and supervisory committee of the Macao and Canada Economic and Trade Association, led by the incoming president, Henry Ieng Kam Chan, visited the Macao Chamber of Commerce . They received a warm welcome from Vice President Huang Guosheng and several members of the board.

 

Vice President Huang Guosheng welcomed the Economic and Trade Association on behalf of the Chamber and introduced the Chamber's history of 110 years, highlighting its efforts to connect the Macao business community, unite various industry networks, establish platforms for young entrepreneurs, and gather the strength of Chinese merchants. He expressed the hope that both organizations would maintain communication and support each other in their respective activities.

 

Henry Chan thanked the Chamber for their hospitality and introduced the efforts made by the Economic and Trade Association over the past ten years to promote exchanges in trade, education, culture, and tourism between China, Macao, Canada, and around the world. This includes organizing Chinese and Canadian enterprises to participate in the Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) for ten consecutive years, building a Chinese-Canadian exhibition hall, promoting Macao overseas while telling the stories of China and Macao, sharing bilateral educational resources, and enhancing members' language skills and business mindset. He expressed a desire to learn more from the Chamber and looked forward to strengthening cooperation in the future, giving back to society and Macao.

 

Participants discussed topics such as expanding international trade through Macao as a platform and Macao’s "1+4" moderate diversification development strategy, with a lively atmosphere in the meeting.
