The Macao and Canada Economic and Trade Association held its opening ceremony on October 19th

During the period of October 19-22, 2023, the association organized twenty-one companies and institutions to participate in the 28th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF), including the Canadian  Chamber of Commerce in Macao, the Canadian Municipal Business Gateway, and several mainland Chinese and Hong Kong-Macau enterprises.

At this year's MIF, the MCETA continued its efforts by setting up both online and offline exhibition halls. The opening ceremony took place on the first day of the fair. Mr. Leong Wa Fong, Manager of the Research and Information Division of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, Ms. Janet MacPhee, Vice Consul of Consulate General of Canada to Hong Kong and Macao, Sir. José Maria Pereira Coutinho, Deputy to the Legislative Council of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Doctor Ung Choi Kun, President of Association of Property Agents and Realty Developers of Macau, Mr. Lorne Schmidt, Vice President of Canadian Chamber of  Commerce In Macao, as well as our Honorary President Mr. He Hanpei, Honorary President Mr. Li Rongxi, Consultant Mr. Wu Xiqiang, Executive Vice Presidents Doctor Kenglim Chan, Mr. Henry IK Chan, and Mr. He Kaidong were present at the ceremony. The event was also broadcasted live, simultaneously sharing the experience with local and international participants.

Since its establishment in 2015, our association has participated in the MIF for nine consecutive years, utilizing exhibitions to promote economic, trade, educational, tourism, and cultural exchanges. We have been actively promoting Macau and the Greater Bay Area as investment destinations, and continuously working towards facilitating local and international economic, trade, and educational cooperation. We are grateful for the strong support from the Macau SAR government, the Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong and Macau, and friends from all walks of life.

During the fair, the offline exhibition hall welcomed friends from all sectors, introducing and promoting high-tech and health-related products. We continue to play a role as a cross-border organization, facilitating business connections between entrepreneurs from Greater China and Canadian enterprises. By bringing relevant Canadian companies to the fair and facilitating exchanges with attendees, we aim to foster multiple business matching opportunities and lay the foundation for future collaborations.

During the exhibition, the offline exhibition hall received visitors from various backgrounds, with a focus on promoting high-tech and healthcare products. Acting as a transnational organization, the MCETA actively serves entrepreneurs from the Greater China region and facilitates business connections with Canadian companies. They hope to attract Canadian enterprises, facilitate multiple business matches, and lay a solid foundation for cooperation between the two sides.
