Recently, Henry Ieng Kam Chan, the incoming president of the Macao and Canada Economic and Trade Association, led a delegation of council representatives to visit General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau, where they were warmly received by Vice President Ho Yunn Sang, Mok Wai Seng, and others. Both organizations hope to continue strengthening cooperation and establish platforms for youth training to enhance young people's strategic leadership and innovation capabilities.
Henry Chan stated that since its establishment ten years ago, the Macao and Canada Economic and Trade Association has promoted and organized domestic and international enterprises to participate in the annual Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) for nine consecutive years, setting up a Canadian exhibition hall, attracting investment, and facilitating multilateral economic and trade exchanges to support Macao's "1+4" industrial development. At the same time, they actively share the Chinese story and the Macao story with Canada and some overseas countries, promoting the successful practice of the Macao “One Country, Two Systems.”
Ho Yunn Sang and Mok Wai Seng expressed their gratitude for the strong support of the Macao and Canada Economic and Trade Association for the social service work of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau. They previously assisted the Neighborhood Association in organizing a delegation to visit and learn from Canada's advanced experiences in community work and elderly services. They also introduced the Neighborhood Association's work in social services, community governance participation, and promoting the integrated development of social services in the Greater Bay Area, making the expansion of youth services one of their key focus areas.
Both organizations expressed their commitment to continue strengthening cooperation, including establishing platforms and developing youth training to enhance the strategic leadership and innovative abilities of young people.
The meeting also included representatives such as He Kai Dong and Zheng Han Wen, executive vice presidents of the Macao and Canada Economic and Trade Association; vice presidents Xu Shi Gong, chairman Chan Guo Wei, supervisor Chan Mei Ling, secretary general Lin Qiao Fen, vice chairman Huang Yu Hong, vice chairman and Youth Department Director Lin Bo Sheng, Youth Department Deputy Director Wu Shi Qi, deputy secretary general Peng Kai Zhen, as well as Zhou Yi Xin, vice president of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau, and vice chairman Xie Mei Ling, Lin Min Zhi, among others.
